The Volcán del Cuervo (raven’s volcano) erupted in 1730; almost three centuries later, inside its curving crater, we were struck by the silence and stillness.
It’s an unfamiliar landscape, but one that has an unexpected beauty and richness. We were drawn to the glowing rusts and ochres of the rocks, speckled with delicate lichen, forming abstract patterns against the crater’s walls.
